Ghost and the Darkness, The (1996)

Plot: In 1896, a construction engineer from the British Army, J.H. Patterson (Kilmer) is sent to build a railway bridge across Uganda’s Tsavo River for the British East African Railway. Soon after he arrives, workmen begin to disappear at night from their tents – never to be seen alive again. The engineer soon discovers that a pair of man-eating lions are stalking around the bridge and campsites, killing the workmen for food. He tries a number of different methods to get rid of them, but the beasts always seem to know what Patterson is doing and avoid being shot. After 30 men have been killed Patterson’s boss recruits a hunter, Charles Remington (Douglas) to hunt down and destroy the lions. But the lions continue killing the workmen until they flee the camps, jumping onto the train as it rolls through Tsavo. Now Remington, Patterson & his aide (John Kani) must face these brilliant yet frightening monsters alone.

OK. it is split into five books, Badge, New Leaf, Broken Chain, Key to Secret Sepia (or key of S.Secrets) and Power, and the Series is Called The Power Books. Help with more titles for The series, and Title for the books. Choose which one, first is the Original.
Badge (Or Sepia.)
On Edrea Garnets fifteenth birthday, she is told of a Magical Kingdom that boarders Heaven, and she has powers to bring both worlds peace, but she can only take in this power by coming into the world of Sepia. She walks into the grounds, and accidentally locks the portal from the two worlds. She only can escape when she fulfills her powers and fights the evil forces back into their dark lands. The Source of Edrea’s power, An Ancient Badge which hold every power possible.
New leaf (Or Clone of the Highland)
Once again, Edrea Garnet finds herself into the gates of the World of Sepia, but a mysterious force is roaming the land, and She meets her matchmaker. Herself. She suddenly starts losing her power, and the Clone starts taking it in, when the Badge has been stolen. She must destroy The clone, but will that destroy herself, in order for her to save The magical Kingdom from the end.
The Broken Chain (Or Broken Truce, or Broken Truth)
When the new king (15 year old prince in Badge) becomes King breaks a scared Truce that stops the evil forces from coming, Edrea finds out her destiny, to be queen along side the knew Chain Breaker King. The Black Knights, Black Dragons, and Black Merpeople start to eliminate a tenth of the poulation and time is short. the only way for her to save them, is not by force, but to convince The king to retake his decision, and that could be hard trying to get passed the knights, Dragons and people of the sea, with her power not enough to stop them, and she cannot let her true identidy be revealed, only to the king, but will that be possible?
Key to Secret Sepia (Or key of S.Secrets)
When Edrea learns about the Four Elements, She decides to use these powers for her own wealth. She finds out that in the World of Sepia she is the Fire Element (Reason for her last name, which means Dark Red, the color of fire, as Edrea means powerful, her middle names mean Chosen for peace, see how it connects?) And these powers are the reason that the gates for Secret Sepia opens (S.Secrets stand for Sepia Secrets) Which is a anciant Cave which holds ghosts, spirits and souls and bones of past evil kings, said to bring goodness when bringing more evil to the kingdom. The Ghosts and Souls find there bones and escape, and destroy Sepia. One takes Edrea’s power and The badge with her power has been destoyed. But luck is on her side, when she learns the elements quickly, that is the only thing that can destroy the Dead Kings.
The story ends in a cliffhanger ending because the kings die, the superviser or wise one gets four kings into his soul, leaving him with an evil soul.
Power (Or Powerful: The finale. The end.)
Continuing from Key, Edrea must burn the origanal bones with fire element of the kings in the wisdom’ kings in his soul. Once she tracks them two down, the lat one escapes, and is in the soul of another, anyone surviver in Sepia, or object. She riddles out the location, which means going passed five stages. The Water guard (enemy of water element, dark clone), The Wind Guard, The Earth (Or Soil, as they say in Sepia) Guard and the Fire Guard. Once she passes all these she meets with all the evil forces, and suddenly is followed by spirits of legends and great kings. The fight many dark side forces that were taken over by the dark force in New leaf who were transported to secret sepia, and then have a large stuggle to destroy the king soul, who she must destroy, but the bones will not defeat, but the person is one she loves. She is given a choice to close the portal but one will have peace, while one struggles and burns in darkness. Edrea chooses the earth, but inserts the found badge, that wasn’t destoyed, and the world of sepia will stay the same, frozen, until she returns (Epilogue) So the world of Sepia won’t get bad, while the earth has peace.

i was wondering if The broken Desitny sounds better or worse than the broken Chain. i would like to put Destiny in one of these titles. or i could scratch Broken (Even though the title was such an insperation to me) and make it Destiny Truth, or Destiny Truce?
Its okay although it might be copyright, as i have read a series of five books called the Dark Towers, a series of five towers located through a country. It might seem different, but the things the hero has to face seem exactly the same to your ideas.

Well, you’ve definitely thought it through a great deal and you seem to have it all worked out; the plot, the characters, etc.
It doesn’t sound like a bad yarn, but it seems like something you’d have to read to get.
I say, keep going with it, because it seems really important to you and it seems like you’ve put a LOT of time and energy into it.

I think they all sound great. I think I’ll like The Broken Chains the most, I kind of love kings and dragons. Wow, you’ve really thought it through. Love the titles. Think it’s inspired me to plan my story out better.

The titles of the books though are kind of annoying I don’t know how to explain it though sorry. :/ I do like the titles Badge and The broken chain, their somewhat vivid. Key to secret sepia seems like a mouth full, otherwise their great!

Hmm. It could work, though that depends mainly on how well you write it. I like the way each book is more or less a self-contained story. That should make it easier to get it published, as the publisher doesn’t have to commit to publishing the whole series.
The first book sounds like about half the fantasy stories I’ve ever read – "protagonist grows up knowing nothing of her true nature, and on her 11th/13th/15th birthday learns that she is a wizard/werewolf/the chosen one who is fated to save the world." There isn’t necessarily anything wrong with that – writers keep writing these stories and publishers keep publishing them because readers keep reading them – but you need some twist or variation on the basic template to make your story stand out.
The later stories sound more original, though the four classical elements (earth, air, fire, water) have been done to death. I’d avoid them if possible, or try to come up with original twist on the idea.
Watch out for places where you’ve used the wrong word – boarders instead of borders, and scared instead of sacred, among others. The spellchecker won’t catch these, because the words are spelt correctly.
I don’t normally comment on names, but I don’t think Sepia is a very good name for your invented world, unless everything in it is brown. (It’s a real word – look it up.)
And S R – repeat after me, "Copyright does not protect ideas, only the expression of those ideas." That’s one reason why half the fantasy novels on the market fit the template above. Humanity ran out of original ideas for stories some time before the Israelites wrote down the Book of Genesis. (The story of the Flood borrows heavily from the Epic of Gilgamesh.) A genuinely new idea is about as likely as a new letter being added to the English alphabet. (And yes, I know J and U weren’t there to begin with. But both are variations on existing letters, which rather proves the point.)

I think that this could be really good
This is clearly well thought out, and most importantly, it’s original. It’s also a really good thing that you’re ending the one story with a cliffhanger! I love cliffhangers!
I think that Sepia would be a good title for the first one. I also really like the third stories title, not sure why, I just think that it’s really good

This is as nice as I can put it,it’s a copyright. That ideas been done before the names have been done before and the characters HAVE BEEN DONE BEFORE! Maybe change it a little or just come up with a totally new idea, because they won’t let you use this in publishing and honestly, it might not even be good enough for publishing. Good luck though.
