What do you think of my mock 2009 NFL mock draft?

Noiembrie 27th, 2009 by clarencepetersen1989

There are a couple of surprise picks in here. Also I have some players falling out of the 1st round that most people have going in the early to mid 1st. You have to remember though, NFL Drafts are always unpredictable, so you have to do the unexpected.

1.Detroit-Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma
- Think, a faster Peyton Manning.
2.St. Louis-Michael Oher, OT, Ole Miss
- Orlando Pace’s replacement.
3.Kansas City-Andre Smith, OT, Alabama
- Franchise left tackle that could achor the line for the next 12 years.
4.Cleveland-Malcolm Jenkins, CB, Ohio State
- May be too early to draft a corner, but it’s an obvious hole that needs to be fixed and Jenkins could very well be a Pro Bowler in the next 2-3 years.
5.Seattle-Eugene Monroe, OT, Virginia
- Walter Jones’ replacement.
6.Cincinnati-Michael Crabtree, WR, Texas Tech
- Cincy’s new superstar after Chad and TJ leave for free agency.
7.Oakland-Jeremy Maclin, WR, Missouri
- Al Davis loves speed and Maclin brings plenty of that to the table.
8.Jacksonville-Rey Maualuga, ILB, USC
- Since Mike Peterson will most likely be gone, they bring in Rey to anchor the linebacking corps. Move over Ray, there’s a new Rey in the NFL.
9.Green Bay-Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas
- Best available player.
10.Buffalo-Aaron Curry, OLB, Wake Forest
- Brings size to a small front seven.
11.San Francisco-Vontae Davis, CB, Illinois
- Walt Harris’ replacement and possibly take #1 corner spot from underachieving Nate Clements. Also brings a brotherhood to San Fran, literally.
12.Denver-Brandon Spikes, ILB, Florida
- If he preforms well in the National Championship Game, then Brandon Spikes could very well be a top 15 pick.
13.Houston-Everette Brown, DE, Florida State
- Make it 3 years in a row Houston has drafted a D-lineman. Anchor the line for the next decade with Mario Williams and Amobi Okeye.
14.New Orleans-Taylor Mays, FS, USC
- Freak of nature. Faster than Champ Bailey. Covers like Asante Samuel. Hits like Ray Lewis.
15.Washington-Michael Johnson, DE, Georgia Tech
- Brings youth to an aging defensive line.
16.Detroit (from Dallas)-Jason Smith, OT, Baylor
- Sam Bradford’s insurance policy.
17.Tampa Bay-Percy Harvin, WR, Florida
- Joey Galloway’s replacement. Punt/kick returner. Electrifying speed. Line up opposite of Antonio Bryant or great slot receiver. Downfield threat.
18.Chicago-CJ Spiller, RB, Clemson
- Think, Chris Johnson of the Titans. Two-headed monster of the NFC North (Forte=thunder & Spiller=lightning)
19.New York Jets-Clint Sintim, OLB, Virginia
- Helps to solidify a good linebacking corps.
20.New England-Brian Cushing, OLB, USC
- Bring much needed youth to a very old linebacking corps (besides young star, Jerod Mayo).
21.San Diego-William Moore, FS, Missouri
- Upgrades free safety position.
22.Arizona-Chris "Beanie" Wells, RB, Ohio State
- Franchise runningback.
23.Minnesota-Patrick Chung, SS, Oregon
- Darren Sharper needs a replacement sooner or later and Chung may just be the guy.
24.Miami-Alphonso Smith, CB, Wake Forest
- After getting burnt through the year, Miami decides to take a cover corner to stop the bleeding.
25.Atlanta-Sen’Derrick Marks, DT, Auburn
- Move Jonathan Babineaux back outside. Run stuffer.
26.Baltimore-Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR, Maryland
- Close enough to be a home-town kid. Able to stretch the field. Could be the next Peyton/Harrison, Aikman/Irving, Montana/Rice kind of deal.
27.New York Giants-Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU
- Move Kiwanuka (sp?) back to linbacker and good enough to give Osi (when he comes back) and Tuck a needed breather. Good pass rusher for passing situations.
28.Pittsburgh-Ciron Black, OL, LSU
- Ben Roethisberger can’t get 2 seconds in the pocket without some defender having a hold of him. Ciron could help to solidify the inside of the line.
29.Philadelphia-Duke Robinson, OL, Oklahoma
- With John Runyan and the other guy probably being gone after the season, Duke can step in for them. And we all know how Andy drafts with his 1st pick.
30.Indianapolis-Terrance Cody, DT, Alabama
- Bring much need presence back in the middle of the D-line after Ed Johnson’s release. Great run stopper. HUGE kid.
31.Philadelphia (from Carolina)-Chase Coffman, TE, Missouri
- LJ Smith just isn’t getting it done.
32.Tennessee-Peria Jerry, DT, Ole Miss
- The Titans are going to need someone in the middle after Albert Haynesworth leaves during free agency. The kid who stepped in during the Pittsburgh game was solid, but in the next 3 years he’s gong to need someone next to him. Think, John Henderson and Marcus Stroud of Jacksonville few years back or Pat/Kevin Williams of the Vikings.

*Note: I do have Matthew Stafford (QB, Georgia) coming out, but with the lack of need for quarterbacks, I have him falling to the early to mid 2nd round. Also LeSean McCoy, Knowshon Moreno, and Shonn Greene would normally be a 1st round pick in most drafts, but there is a lack of need for runningbacks this year.
Just to anyone who’s curious, I’m a Saints fan. With a solid draft and some good moves during free agency for defense we really have a chance to be a Super Bowl contender next year.

Geaux Saints!
Ironpump or w/e don’t give me any of that bull. Remember how Brady Quinn was a definate top 5 pick, but if the Browns hadn’t have traded up for him then he would’ve fallen to the SECOND ROUND. Yes a surefire top 5 picks falling to the 2nd round. It can happen. And did you read what I first wrote? THERE ARE A COUPLE OF SURPRISE PICKS.
Yes I truely have Cushing going ahead of Laurinitis. I’ve watched some of his games this year and he has be awful against top talent (Penn State, USC). And in that USC game Brian Cushing was far superior.

I think this is one of the best mock drafts I have seen. Every Player you mentioned fits into the team they would potentially go to. Maclin to Oakand (speed), Crabtree to Cincinnatti (loss of Housmanzedeh). I like how you have not been suckered into the Matt Stafford hype. The guy has performed OK this season, not a top 10 pick everyone else has him at. Also, I love the Baltimore pick.

Go Ravens.

Nancy | Dec 28, 2008

No way we get William Moore. I don’t like him as a player. I think he is overrated and Chung should go to the Chargers if anything. I would prefer an ILB like Maualuga but I guess we made the playoffs but I would rather have Taylor Mays or Chung as the Chargers safety. Even an OT over Moore. Some of your picks are horrible. Some don’t warrant a 1st round selection and where the fuck is Stafford. Your saying he is going to do so bad at the Combine or his pro day that a projected #1 pick will drop a whole round. Some of those players are true second rounders so your wrong. Where is Myron Rolle? Major Wright? I know you totally based this off a site. What makes Bradford so much better then Stafford. Unless Stafford has a crappy bowl game like Quinn who you mentioned he won’t drop. His fundamentals for the pros are what has him so high. They see the same thing they did in Matt Ryan. I’m not saying he will be good I don’t even like him but no way he drops from the whole first round. Also why the fuck would the Giants draft another end. Did there GM become retarded? Their OLB suck, Tyson Jackson is not even a sack specialist and more of a run stopper and is better for a 3-4 not a 4-3. If they move Kiwanuka to OLB they still need another one. Where is a Jermaine Gresham at TE or Brandon Pettigrew at TE. They are clearly better then Coffman. You must think the Eagles are retarded too if they go with Coffman over those 2. Maybe you should look at more prospects. The supposed suprises you have are ridiculous. Those players would need an awesome senior bowl and combine or pro day to get in the first round. I agree on the majority of your picks cause they are plain obvious and I agree that Laurainitis is a joke as an ILB who would get sealed off.
Ironpump | Dec 28, 2008

Did you say a mock draft or a mockery? LOL

Just kidding, those picks look pretty reasonable to me.

chargers 4 life | Dec 29, 2008

I am not buying only three big ten guys in the first round. Do you really think Cushing is going ahead of Laurinitis?
blibityblabity | Dec 29, 2008

Its ok. I think Stafford is the top QB that is most NFL ready coming out of college and someone like Alex Mack (center) could be a pick for the Titans to replace Mawae.
Ryan | Nov 27, 2010

I think Orakpo is going to go a lot higher – probably to the Chiefs (assuming KC doesn’t trade down to pick up an extra draft pick which is a very real possibility). It’s true that we don’t have a great offensive line right now, but we drafted Brandon Albert as LT in the 1st round last year and he has been solid and after finishing the season with just 10 sacks for the entire team we have a much more pressing need for a pass rusher than an o-lineman at the moment.
The King is Dead | Dec 29, 2008

would be good if you had the right order of the top 20
smokedoan | Dec 29, 2008

So, you really think Taylor Mays will drop all the way down to the Saints (which happen to be your favorite team) at #14? That’s insane. You dont think that Cleveland could use him? Or Seattle? Cincy? SF? All of those teams pick ahead and will definitely look at him. I dont see Cincy drafting a WR in the first round, even if they do lose Chad or TJ(most likely.) The re-signed Henry last offseason to play opposite and they could probally get a good WR in the 2nd or 3rd round even. I do agree with Cushing ahead of Laurenitis. I do not think Cody will drop that far in the draft with him being the only premire DL in the draft. Also, where is Stafford? You dont think that someone wont snatch him up in the first round? He was even projected as the #1 overall pick halfway into this season, before the Bradford Hiesman hype. Tell me honestly that San Francisco would rather have Shaun Hill, or the Patriots couldnt use him as a good insurance policy since Brady is behind on his recovery and Cassel is about to walk into a nice contract somewhere else (SF?) and I know they just drafted a QB in the 5th round last year, but obviously they dont have much confidence in the kid. Minnesota could also use a QB, since Frerotte needs to retire (or headbutt another wall,) and Jackson is just a poor mans Mike Vick and needs to learn how to play WR if he wants on the field…
Timmy | Dec 29, 2008

Well, i’ve heard nothing new as final on reform, but from a guy who just let his private insurance lapse
because he cannot afford to make premiums AND be uninsured. That’s right. Also, MEGA ins co.
just returned my premium payment, and said that it wasn’t enough because the premiums just increased by 25% overnight when they haven’t even paid the small claims of any of the chiropractor bills. So, I have been paying an extra bill i can’t afford to a rich as-hole who won’t even cover me if I need to use it. So, to answer a typical dumbfukk repulican as yourself question. Yes. I’d see a public option as a big gift right now. In fact jerkoff, it would be my only christmas present this year.

Is whipped cream and whipping cream the same thing?

Noiembrie 26th, 2009 by clarencepetersen1989

I am making steak tonight with a pan sauce. The recipe calls for 5 tablespoons of cold unsalted butter, 2 beef steaks, 1/3 cup dry red wine or apple juice, 1/4 cup beef broth, 2 tablespoons of finely chopped shallot or 1 clove garlic minced, 1 tablespoon whipping cream (no substitutes) and salt and pepper.

What is whipping cream, is it whipped cream? I wouldn’t think so but I really have no idea. Also, is there a homemade recipe for whipping cream? I don’t want to get out in the Thanksgiving shopping!

Thanks

Whipping cream is a thick cream that is seperated from the top of fresh milk before it is processed(paturized and homogenized.) it is very thick and rich for easy whipping. It is in a small milk type carton in the dairy case.Whipped cream has already been whipped and usually contains other ingredients to keep it from collapsing or seperating..Like the kind you buy in a spray type can.

the instructions for roasting this turkey seem pretty simple- just gotta get past the first bump in the road…i can’t find the gizzards- i have read that that’s the first step and i remember seeing my mom pull out a plastic bag when i was younger, but i can’t find them!

there should be a bag inside the neck cavity that they are in….or maybe yours didn’t have it!

Dig around, there’s probably a neck in there somewhere too. If you need to run water through the entire cavity of the bird, that’s how i usually get them out. Worst part of Thanksgiving in my opinion is cleaning that bird!

Jurassic Park IIIJurassic Park III (2001)

IMDB rating: 5.60

Plot: Eight years after the InGen incident, Dr. Alan Grant is happy with his life far from any dinosaurs other than fossilized. Unfortunately, he is extremely short in research money, and therefore accepts the offer of wealthy businessman Paul Kirby: A low flight over isolated Isla Sorna, where InGen’s second research site was located, and Dr. Grant can fund his future research for a long time. What Dr. Grant didn’t know is that Kirby just needs a dinosaur expert to help him and his wife find their 14-year-old son Eric, who crashed on the island while paragliding. What he did suspect, but never wanted to witness, is that the Velociraptors have evolved into a communicating species (and seemingly all along had the capability to do so), now being smarter than primates.
